Barcelona, Spain| FC Barcelona appears to be breathing more easily. With just a week to go before Barcelona lock horns with German outfit Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in the first leg of the Champions league semi final, everything seems to be indicating that Argentine maestro Leo Messi will be ready to tackle the German side.
The Argentine has already forgotten about the hamstring injury suffered in the first leg of the quarterfinals against Paris Saint-Germain and the latest tests that Leo has undergone have been positive enough for the Barca medics to give him the green light.
This will be one of the most important games the Catalan club disputes this season and Messi’s green light will certainly spur both the player and the club on without a shadow of a doubt.
The Argentine’s recovery and physiotherapy sessions along with his timely break last weekend against Zaragoza have allowed the player to get back into tip top form ahead of the momentous clash with Jupp Heynckes’ Bayern Munich.
Now the the only question that remains unresolved is whether Messi will get a few minutes of play on Saturday against Levante in order to get some contact with the grass and prove his fitness ahead of the crunch game on Tuesday in Munich.
Messi would do well to sit the Levante game out and come on for the last 15 minutes or so in our opinion. There is no doubt that some well-deserved rest will ignite the Argentine and make him hungry for the Bayern game.
Barca need messi at his very best and by giving him some extra space, although Messi would probably disapprove, would allow Barca to field him against the Germans in top condition.
