The National Film Festival of Tangier opened Friday

Agadir, Morocco–The Moroccan Cinematographic Centre raised curtain on Friday for the 14th Tangier National Film Festival, which is taking place on February 01-09.
35 films (including 14 short films) will compete officially with a jury chaired by Jacques Dorfmann and Ahmed Akhchichine.
One of the main French producers, Jacques Dorfmann is the former president of “Unifrance Film International” and the French Association of producers of films. He is also an officer of the Order of Arts and Letters and Chevalier of the National Order of Merit.
Ahmed Akhchichine, former Minister of national education, is a Moroccan academic and communication expert.
The festival is supposed to pay tribute to veteran actors of Moroccan cinema, namely Mahmah Aisha, Mohamed Abdellah, and Benbrahim Lamrani.
Besides the official competition films, long and short ones, this 14th edition of Tangier’s National Film Festival will include lectures, film the balance sheet under the year 2012 and several debates.
