Agadir, Morocco — Head of National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces, Ahmed Moaz al-Khatib, said they were ready to negotiate with Syrian regime in an attempt to stop the bloodbath.

We agree to confer with the authorities to stop the bloodshed, destruction and burning down of Syria” said Moaz Al-Khatib in a written statement released from the office as Anadolo news agency reported.

BBC reporting on Al-Kharib as saying to al-Jazeera TV “The regime must take a clear stand (on dialogue) and we say we will extend our hand for the interest of people and to help the regime leave peacefully.”

Elected as the President of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces on 11 November 2012, al-Khatib has since been recognized as the legitimate government of Syria by a number of countries.

Al-Khatib,unprecedented, urged President Bashar al-Assad to open dialogue to end the ongoing conflict in Syria, calling it “lesser of two evils,”

United States’ State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said “If the regime has any interest in peace, it should sit down and talk now with the Syrian Opposition Coalition, and we would strongly support al-Khatib in that call,”

On other hand, the Syrian Observatory’s estimate of the total Syrian causalities since the Syrian conflict is 51,167.
