Oklahoma city, USA –American multinational energy corporation Chevron has signed Tuesday petroleum agreements with Morocco’s Office National Des Hydrocarbures Et Des Mines.

As soon as awarded, The San Ramon, California-headquartered giant will acquire seismic data and conduct studies in three offshore areas in deep waters  in Morocco known as Cap Rhir Deep, Cap Cantin Deep and Cap Walidia Deep located between 60 miles and 120 miles west and northwest of Agadir(south of Morocco)

Totalling around 11,300 square miles in area, the three areas lie in average water depths ranging from between 330 feet to 14,700 feet.

According to Dow Jones Newswires, Ali Moshiri, president of Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production Co, said “This is an opportunity for Chevron to expand its already strong presence in the region and allows us to acquire further knowledge about promising geology in an emerging area.”

“We look forward to participating in exploration activities in Morocco, which provides Chevron an opportunity to advance our growth strategy in frontier basins,” said George Kirkland, vice chairman, Chevron Corporation in a press release.

Chevron is active in more than 180 countries and engaged in every aspect of the oil, gas, and geothermal energy industries.
