Moroccan Minister of Interior: Morocco “Fully Supports” French Intervention in Mali

Agadir, Morocco —The Moroccan Minister of Interior Mohand Laenser said Friday that Morocco supports “French intervention for French military intervention in Mali, considering it “timely, relevant, and “ it seeks to defend the territorial integrity of Mali “at a meeting on security with other European countries including France.
Morocco, with any reservation, support France in its military operation against terrorism in mail” this operation aims at protecting safety and territorial integrity of the Malian people, laenser told news conference with his France counterpart Manuel Valls.
Morocco, France, Spain and Portugal’s meeting today in Rabat is one of quadripartite security meetings, which is for the continuation of consulting and working together in order to deal with the Mali crisis and try to deal with challenges in the region, according to the news conference.
A week ago, French president François Hollande said that the Kingdom opened its airspace for French army aircraft after the former had a long telephone conversation with the Moroccan king, during which the two leaders talked about the situation in Mali and both vowed to defend its territorial integrity.
