Oklahoma, U.S.A| Tired of the continuous criticism by fans and his precarious “interim” position, Rafael Benitez said Wednesday he will leave English Premier League side Chelsea at the end of the season

The Spaniard made his decision public after reports of fans having barracked him relentlessly and also his anger at the Premier League club’s hierarchy.

After the Blues won 2-0 at Middlesbrough and advanced to an FA Cup quarterfinal against Manchester United, Benitez announced that during the news conference that his position had been untenable since he was appointed “interim manager” in November.

Chelsea’s coach warned unhappy fans that that their “damaging agenda” is jeopardizing the team’s chances of silverware along with qualification for the next season’s Champions League.

“They are not doing any favors to their club, to the rest of the club and the players,” Benitez said.
