ISAPS report: Turkey and Saudi Arabia ranked first in Muslim world in performing Plastic Surgery

California, U.S.A — Around 15 million cosmetic procedures were performed across the world in 2011, according to According to a recent study conducted by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
The methodology used to gather the date was by surveying licensed surgeons from different countries. “The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS) issued an invitation to participate in the study to approximately 20,000 Plastic Surgeons whose contact information is housed in its proprietary database. In addition, a request was made that all National Societies encourage their Members/constituents to take part in the survey, “the ISAPS said.
Entitled “Global Study of Aesthetic/Cosmetic Surgery Procedures Performed in 2011,” The third annual report revealed that lipoplasty was 2011′s most popular cosmetic surgery procedure in the U.S. Also, the United States was ranked first among countries performing breast augmentations while China, Japan, and South Korea were among the top-five countries in doing nose jobs (rhinoplasties).
In Muslim and Arab countries, Turkey and Saudi Arabia, ranked 13 and 22 worldwide, performed a total of 104,767 and of 46,962 surgical procedures respectively.
