Taroudant , Morocco| The Spanish newspaper “Elpais” released a video featuring a Spanish coast guard ship running into a boat with about 27 clandestine immigrants onboard, resulting in causing the boat to sink and costing the lives of seven people.
The incident goes back to the end of last year. The immigrants were coming from the Moroccan coastal southern city of Sidi Ifni.
This incident cost the lives of seven people. One body was recovered while the others were reported missing. The other seventeen were rescued.
The footage showed the coastal guard forces deliberately bumping into and capsizing the boat. The Spanish coast guards had already told different stories.
One said that it was all an accident whereas the second said that the incident was due to a mechanical breakdown, a failure led to loss of control and therefore driving into the boat.
However, the video released rebutted all the stories. Only the survivors’ stories were credible. These survivors talked about being deliberately sunk by the Spanish coast guards.
